SCv2020 Factory reset
Hi
We have acquired and SCv2020 array due to the acquisition of another company and would like to put it to use, however we do not know the login details or even what IP Address it had been configured with.
Is there any way to do a factory reset without logging into the system?
Thanks
DJ

Hello DJ,
Do you know if the system has ever done a phone home before? If so then we may be able to see what the IP’s of the controllers are so that you can login locally to the controllers. I am going to send you a private message & if you can reply with the serial# of your controllers I can look into this for you. You will also want to do the ownership transfer to the new company so that if you still have a warranty on the system you can contact support if needed. Here is the link to the ownership transfer. https://www.dell.com/support/assets-transfer/ie/en/iedhs1/?lwp=rt#/Identify
If the system hasn’t done a phone home then, you will need to call into support and have the serial cable that came with the system in order to clear the password.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hello!
I've recently acquired an SCv2020 storage unit and I am in the same situation. I wish to factory reset the hardware and have no knowledge of any previous setup that may have occurred on the unit. I find it rather frustrating that there doesn't appear to be any publicly available technical information on how to accomplish this.
I've decided to ask in this forum as a first step to try and make use of this hardware. So far, not impressed.

You can easily login by creating a usb stick with the unlock.py file and a serial connection. After you log into SCOS you can see the IP addresses of the CMs.
My concern about factory reset is that you may loose the licenses. Without the transfer of the unit from the previous owner to a new one you will not get the information from dell and the support to get it working again.
Maybe its easier with your SCv2020 but i can speak for SC4020 and the older ones.
