Hello blockchen,

Is this a new deployment or has the system been up and running before?  Based on the picture that you provided, you may have a hardware issue.  If you select troubleshoot storage center hardware issue what does it say?

https://www.dell.com/storagehelp/dellstorageclient/19.1.20/en-us/GUID-AEFCB7AC-09E4-4DE9-A926-1AABF0497F1F.html

The host server, on which the Storage Manager software is installed, must be on the same subnet or VLAN as the Storage Center.
Layer 2 multicast must be allowed on the network.
Make sure that IGMP snooping is disabled on the switch ports connected to the Storage Center.

-----------------

1. First try
2. The front disk is not inserted. (Can't I use the management tool without the disk?)
3.mgmt ports are connected in series without sc5020<->pc switch. (Should I use a switching hub?)

One of the two controllers is running in safe mode and cannot proceed with the initial storage center setup.
How do I turn off safe mode??

Hello @blockchen,

Sometimes, In many instances the BMC (Baseboard Management Card) hits an issue causing the controller to reset and go in to Safe Mode. The quick and easy way to fix this is to remove all power from a controller for 15 minutes, and pull both power supplies out of the chassis 2 inches so they do not make contact with the internal connections. By leaving the controller powered down and disconnected for 15 minutes it allows the BMC to reset. When you reconnect power the controller should boot up normally. It takes 10 minutes to boot so be patient.

If this does not fix the problem I suggest you to contact phone support and open a ticket.

Regards.

Hello blockchen,

I'd have to recommend contacting support to create a ticket, as Diego had mentioned in his post. I'm happy to help you get in touch with them if you need contact information. In order to locate the number, I'd just need to know what country you're in.

I got a response from DELL.

The service center will not process it just because you bought it on eBay.
The service tag is retired and requires an order number.
There is no order number because I bought it on eBay.

Products not purchased from DELL cannot be serviced, and products purchased from eBay or used cannot be serviced.

If the product was purchased on ebay but does have a Serice Tag, then the support is possible. The problem is that your system does not have a Service Tag.

Either because it was erased on purpose or because it is a product that was bought without Service Tag.

I am sorry but in order to support be able to provide you a quote for support you need a Service Tag.

Regards.

I found the service tag and made an inquiry.
Dell refuses to apply.
