Replication issue between SC and EqualLogic
I need to replicate volumes from my SC5020 (SCOS 7.2.11.4) to my EqualLogic PS6500 (firmware 9.1.6). I followed the "Cross-Platform-Replication Solution Guide (3158-CD-INF)" guide and so far I successfully added my PS to my Dell Storage Manager (version 2016 R3.20). I also successfully created iSCSI connections between the two SANs (I can see the iSCSI connections from both the Dell Storage Manager and from the EqualLogic Group Manager applications). And I can see the SC5020 inside the EqualLogic Group Manager Replication Partners section. So it seem like everything is ready and I can start replicating my SC volumes.
But when I choose the Replicate Volume option I always get this "Error happened while communicating to PS Group" error as seen from the screenshot. I tried both way (replicate volume from SC to PS and PS to SC) and the same error keep popping up. I did some wireshark investigation to hopefully get more details and see if I have network issue(s) but I'm not finding anything wrong. So I'm completely clueless on this error and I'm not finding anything useful on the internet about this. And this SC <=> PS replication feature doesn't seem to be very popular because it's very hard to find anything about it.

I just sent you a private message so I can open a case for this. I show this was a previous error in DSM2015R1, but was fixed in newer software. I will look in to your logs to identify why this is not working

This won't be very helpful, but I can say I feel your pain. The whole XPR feature set has been a nightmare for us that I have spent way too much time troubleshooting. Tons of bugs, limitations, and really feels like a hack job. And I agree with the notion that this feature isn't very popular. No one seems to use it, and even support isn't well-versed with it. It took over a year for us to get it somewhat stable. I would just say ensure you are on the latest code for both platforms, which for the PS arrays it seems like you are. You may want to get the SC series up to 7.2.40. Also, if you are using jumbo frames, make sure they are functioning end-to-end. Lots of times jumbo frame issues can present all sorts of weird issues- sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, etc. Do you have a dedicated replication fault domain on the SC series? And yes as mentioned in the other post, make sure Dell Storage Manager is up to date. I believe the latest is 2016 R3.20 Build 16.3.20.31.
