Replacing/Deleting a disk from enclosure
Hi Guys,
I need help here. We have SC220 enclosure and 1 of the 15K disk had critical temperature alert spamming all the time. So we thought the disk might have failed, and we got replacement same model harddisk(not direct from Dell) which is identical to this failed disk. My bad, I didn't release the failed disk from gui before replacing, the replaced disk showed up in gui but status is "This drive not supported in Dell Enclosure". The health status is "RIPexpired". Maybe the new disk we got has incompatible firmware. Google-ing this word "RIPexpired' end nowhere.
Next, we tried put back the original disk back to enclosure, but disk status remained the same. It did not change at all.
Out of dell support now, what should i do now to clear the error code "RIPexpired"? We need to get original disk back online first and then fix the compatible disk later.
Thanks and regards,
Reeyon
