Question on Volume % Full

Hello, I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out with with the space differences between a vmware datastore and the volume on the Compellent. So the two photos below are currently what I'm seeing.

The Compellent system, is saying that the volume is 97% full, yet the vmware datastore is 65% full. And the total disk space is a bit larger than the configured space. I'm just a bit confused. Is it something that I should be worrying about?

I'm wondering how do people interpret this kind of info and what's the best thing to do in a situation like this? Should I add more space to the volume? And if so, how much? More than the total disk space I see now, or just enough to cover the snapshot overhead + the active space?

There also is a volume that's running on this storage system that has a total disk space of 13.76 TB while the configured space is 5TB - any ideas on what I should do about that?

I do not see your screen shots, but based upon your description it sounds like you have white space, or what VMWare describes as Dead Space.

Volume space displayed in System Manager shows space to which data has been written and space that is unused. Because Storage Center cannot distinguish between blocks deleted by the operating system, and blocks currently used by the operating system, data deleted at the operating system level appears as consumed space in System Manager. This disk space can be reclaimed using operating system commands.For space recovery in ESX please refer to page 68 Section 16.3.4 - Dead space reclamation (SCSI UNMAP) in the Dell Storage SC Series Best Practices with VMware vSphere 5.x–6.x

View a Data Progression Pressure Report
1. Select a Storage Center from the Storage view. (Data Collector connected Storage Manager Client only)
2. Click the Storage tab.
3. In the Storage tab navigation pane, expand Storage Type, then select the individual storage type that you want to examine.
4. Click the Pressure Report subtab to view the data progression pressure report. By default, the most recent data gathered from the Storage Center is displayed.
5. Select the Volumes tab to see your individual Volumes and what Tier the space is being used by. I would look at the Snapshot Overhead amount. If a large amount of changes are written to this Volume then there will be a large amount of Snapshot space used. Ever Snapshot stores the changes written to Volume from the last Snapshot taken.
