"No new unmanaged disks were found." adding new disk
Model: Compellent Enclosure EN-SC4020
I just popped this disk in the enclosure, to add disk space to a volume:
Fired up the Storage center, and under Enclosure1\Disks, it has a status of 'Up'
No othervalues are populated.
I then right clicked on 'Disks' and choose 'Manage Unassigned Disks', but received the message you see in the thread title: "No new unmanaged disks were found."
Tried a re-scan for disks, but no help.
Ideas?
I was really hoping for a nice easy plug & play to add storage...
oh, and the light on the HDD went green..
Thanks,
rich

Disks that come from a non-Dell reseller will not work. There is a specific software on Dell/Compellent SAN disks to allow them to be recognized by the system.

Hello Rich,
Where did you purchase the drive from? Also did you just add a single drive or did you add more than one drive?
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Disregard the thread.
I'm going to try another disk.
