NEW DISK INSTALLED IN scv3020 ARE TAKEN TO EXTERNAL FOLDER
I have installed 10 disks in scv3020 from slot 20 to slot 29 and after installation the disks are not taken to the unassigned disk folder for assigning instead they go to the external devices section.
Can you assist to how to go about this.

Joelnpaul,
The issue you're seeing where the new drives show in the external folder is typically caused by firmware incompatibility or incorrect part sourcing. Meaning that the drives you got may have a part number that is showing as compatible in the Scv3020, but the firmware isn't. There are drives that are compatible with both Equallogic systems, as well as Compellent systems, but the firmware is specific to each, so the drives you got likely have Equallogic or MD firmware, which won't work with your SCV3020.
Would you verify where you got the drives from?

I wouldn't be able to tell based on the part number, if you like you can private message me the order #, but you will likely need to reach out to the distributor to confirm fw version and likely reorder the drives with the correct fw.

@DELL-Chris H This could be a firmware issue because the storage has not been updated since 2023
