How to remove Data Collector out of SC4000

Hi Folks

Currently, my customer have 2 SC4000 are managed by Data Collector to Replicate Volume. But now they forgot the password of Data Collector that installed in Window Server.

so my question is how can we remove Data Collector out of SC4000 to we can configure new Data Colletor.

thanks

Yes you can perform all tasks as normal after changing the settings for the "Tie Breaker" and yes at first you just install a fresh DC and pick up the existing SCs as normal. Our old DC was dead in the water because of a failed upgrade.

I found my Dell #SR ticket but i only noted that within the new DC you need to configure the Tie Breaker setting in the SCs otherwise they try to reach the "old one".   Iam pretty sure it was somewhere in the Replication tab.  We "only" use Syn.Repl + LiveVolume for our vSphere stretched cluster.

Dell support force us to downgrade from the Appliance back to the windows version of the data collector some time ago. I cant remember if our appliance was in working conditions or not.

If both SCs joined to the new Data Collector they bring all the important information into the DC and this included all replication infos as well.
The SCs see the new datacollector as secondary DC or so and Dell Support only switch this role on one or two location within the new DC and the old one was history. It went very fast and only a few clicks... but i cant remember to the details.

You should open a #SR.

Spoiler
So if we join both SCs to new DC, we can perform all tasks same as primary DC, right ?

Do you have any document for promote secondary DC to primary if primary DC is broken ?

thanks

Just for clear your answer. If we want to switch secondary DC to primary, we just update "Tie Breaker" on live volume in "Replication & Live Volume" tab.

Thanks
