Help required with New SC4020 Compellent and testing ODX
I have a SC4020 with 11 x 3.84TB SSD disks ,connected via 2 Control Ports to a 10GB SFP Stacked Switched.
Im running ESX 5.5Update 2 and using a VM running 2012 R2 with all the latest updates
the ESXi host has a 2 x 10GB SFP connection to a Management Stack and 2 x 10GB connection to a dedicated SAN fabric
i used SQL IO and can see 60,000 in some cases so tested ODX (offlaoded data transfers at array level looked intreesting
However what im curious to know is does ODX only work with Physical connections and direct mappings using iscsi iniator to the LUN or does ODX also work at the VMFS level
Dell setup our SAN and weve tested jumbo packets all working fine
most of the guies im reading say they test using a physical server so just wondering has anyone ever tested it or is
I did create 3 luns on the Compellent, turned off read caching, and setup using best practices write at raid 10 and read at raid 5.
But if i copy a 20GB file from one m=vmfs volume to another all i get is transfer rates at 550mb/s whether i turn on the ODX or disable it using the powershell command any help would be appreciated
