Hi We have an Power edge R910 (1X7c322) that we want to by some extra hard drive for it, but I am not sure whitch drive we should buy, could you tell me which drive can we buy that would work we would like to keep de drives the same.
Yes you are correct. Once the drives are added to the server you should be able to go into OMSA and see the new drives are free space & from there you can create your 2 new virtual disk.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
So at looking at the picture that you posted you are looking at a 900GB SAS6 10K HDD drive. So if you are looking to get a replacement drive then the Dell part #’s XRRVX, 2RR9T, RC34W, 3P3DF, H5WGN, 99NCV, 4X1DR, & 8JRN4. You can use any of those part# to find a replacement drive of the same size & speed as what you currently have.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
we dont need to configure this drive in the current raid configuration, we want to configure these 2 drives as just 2 different disks.
Should we just after adding the disks to the server, run the OMSA and go to the virtual disks and then with the virtual disk wizard create 2 new virtual disks one for each physical drive, is this correct?

Hello mrshahin,
Yes you can add the drive into the server while it is running. You will need to use OMSA to configure the new drive or the Raid Bios.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
