Fcoe on compellent SC

Can the intel x710 or t520 chelsio be enabled to support fcoe on the compellent SC ? I know both ar converged network adapters that are capable just not sure if the compellent will enable their operation. Or will it need a qlogic or emulex type of fc/fcoe card ?

Hello edefang,

Here is a link to your support matrix for an SC system.  If you look on page 112-125 it list out all supported FCOE HBA’s. http://en.community.dell.com/dell-groups/dtcmedia/m/mediagallery/20438558

if your HBA is not in the list then you will need to check the HBA HCL to see if your Compellent is listed as supported.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

I think I’m looking for the other way around. I have a Chelsio t520
And an intel x710 on each controller in my compellent. I’m wondering what it takes for the compellent to support fcoe. Not what other machines/is/configurations support fcoe. I’m trying to get the compellent to accept fcoe connections and what that entails. Thanks.

Hello edefang,

The QLE2662 is supported to use with your SCv7020.  However, the QLE2662 is not a FCOE HBA.  I am still doing some checking to confirm this and I am checking with the Storage analyst team to confirm this.  I will reply once I have an answer.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
