Hi,

We would need more detail of the error message or the status or alerts that you mentioned. Where did you see the error or any full message?

There are various steps to resolve the issue, but will need more detailed error.

Here are some articles for SC5020:

Hi,

Thanks for the screenshot. This boot sequence seems to have an issue with system unable to select/determine the lead controller. Was there any procedure done before this issue happened?

In order to resolve this issue, one of the controller will need to be set to standby/offline and setup another controller to bypass the sequence to enable the selection of leader controller. There are sets of command that needed to be executed, but these commands are not readily available for me to provide you. There is no public reference. My advice is to call into support to raise a case for a remote session.

@DELL-Joey C Thank you for update. One more question - how can i know the controller firmware version in safe mode?

Hi,

I don't think you can use the CLI during safe mode to check the firmware of controller, but you can try. The command in CLI is chassis show.

@Serge_1980 this is because another controller failed either. you need to fm ignore another controller and then this controller will boot up.

Yes, I understand it, but what command should I enter into the command line to change the leader?

@Serge_1980 I ran into this recently. Not sure it will help you still, but I did determine that the following commands got us home:

fm leader ignore <hsn of controller that is DOWN>
question answer 300

(It will prompt you to answer a question to confirm. In our case the answer option was 300. Don't recall the exact syntax, but the promt tells you how to answer.)

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion. The command 'fm leader ignore' might be widely used by other users too. But I would like to inform that the command is not mentioned by our support here is because it is not recommended to run before reaching the Principle Engineer to check the entire storage's logs. It would be a risk to run it.
