Event ID Disk 153 on Server2012R2 and Dell SC 4000

Hi folks

Currently, we got an issue the warning in the event-view on almost of window server 2012R2. It's mean all server that is mapped volume from SAN will get this warning.

"The IO operation at logical block address 0x8ada58 for Disk 3 (PDO name: \Device\MPIODisk2) was retried"

The warning appears a lot of times when we access volume from window.

Our environment used live volume, we tried swap primary volume to secondary storage but the warning still appeared.

Yesterday, our SQL query very slow and hung applications. After that, we tried to disable 01 FC port on server and everything works normally but the warning still there.

Do you have met that issue before, if have please help us.

Hello ChauHuuPhat,

Were you getting any errors on your SC4000?  What is your current SCOS version? Did you do any upgrades recently to your host or your SC4000?

We have HyperV cluster with 4 Dell PowerEdge R640 and over FC connected storage Dell SC3020. We have from 19.12.2020 in log the same error ID 153. No change on Hyperv servers or storage (only one failed disk 18.12. was replaced to new one). But was change was form 19.12. started installing 12/2020 windows updates to virtual servers. It is our single theory. Did you start installing them as well?

Did the host OS update or just the VMs?
