Emailing from Storage Center
Hi,
We have installed a compellent device on one of our customer's networks and I have been given the task of setting it up to email alerts out, but I am struggling and wondered if anyone is able to help.
The end user has an exchange server on their network and I have been able to get other devices such as iDRACs to email out but the Compellent is not able to do so.
The IP address of the compellent is entered on the connector of the Exchange server and I can email an internal address and using the exchange logs see the email go through the server, but if I select an external address I don't see it hit the server at all, event the logs are empty.
I imagine that I need to set up some auth settings on the compellent but I can't see where to add them.
Can anyone help?
We are using Storage Manager 19.1.10.350
Thanks,
Anthony

Thats sound like a general whitelist is enabled on the exchange connector to let pass anything for "company.local" but it blocks all other stuff. So you have to edit the security policy on that connector and configure a rule for the sender IP address (add the Datacollector and all 3 SCOS addresses) otherwise you need a valid user account and authentication for that user.
Note: We always configure distribution lists on customer exchange server and the local IT stuff is a member as same as our e-mail "contact" (in exchange speak) in that group.

Hi Joerg,
I have created several anonymous connectors on this server to allow the mail through without any success from the compellent. I am quite happy to add a username and password for the account, but there isn't anywhere to add one on the compellent, nor is there anywhere to turn on TLS.
I am more inclined to think that it is this lack of TLS that is the problem.

Anthony
