Dell SCv3020 Undiscoverable

Hi all.
I have been trying to initialize my SCv3020 but it has not been possible, I am using DSM Client to initialize it, but it has not been possible, I have tried connecting the storage to a switch in my network, connect it directly to the laptop and finally connect it by putty , but it has been impossible to see at least the server login window.
You also followed the instructions in this article: https://www.dell.com/community/Compellent/undiscoverable-new-SCv3020-help/td-p/6123420

So I do not know what else to do, and I just need to initialize this equipment, which will be connected to two R640, if you can explain what else I should do.
I would appreciate it.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.... why is my text deleted when switching between text and html view? Again....

the system took up to 30min for initializing first time before it will responce to the auto discover broadcast.

If you have powered down the system within this time period you have bricked the system and need Dell Support for bring it back and mostlikely you have to re-imaging.

But first... please hook up both serial cables to the two CMs and install the serial/usb driver which is will hidden on dell.com on a windows system. For every cable the driver adds up to 4 com ports. So mostlikely try com1 with 115200/8/1/n for CM1 and com5 for CM2. You have to press enter in your telnet(putty) client to get a responce.

Please post what you see. IIRC the default credentials are
User: Admin
Pass: mmm

If you only have a single SCv without additional enclosures please DONT CONNECT the 2 SAS cables for crossconnecting the two CM. This is  different compared to SCv2020 and SC4020.

Hello vito507,

Here is the Deployment Guide for configuring your SCv3020. https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/storage-scv3000_deployment-guide_en-us.pdf

As Origin3k stated if you did not allow your system powered on for 30minutes prior to power it down then you have bricked the install and will need to contact tech support so that we can look into the controllers and reset them.  In some cases, we will need to reload the image on the system and then you can start the install again.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
