Lukehy247,

There a few things that could be causing this, here is some examples of what could be happening and how to address it:

  1. False Positives from Environmental Sensors

    • The SC200 shelf has temperature sensors in the I/O modules that can occasionally report spikes or drops due to airflow inconsistencies or firmware misreads.
    • These alerts may clear themselves if the temperature returns to normal quickly, which matches your description.
  2. Firmware Mismatch or Bug

    • If the SCOS (Storage Center OS) version on the SCv3020 is outdated or not fully compatible with the I/O module firmware, it may misinterpret sensor data.
    • Dell has addressed similar issues in SCOS updates.
  3. Backplane or Midplane Issues

    • If the I/O module was replaced but the issue persists, the backplane of the SC200 might be intermittently misreporting sensor data.
  4. Power Supply or Fan Module Fluctuations

    • Inconsistent cooling or power delivery can cause localized heating, triggering alerts even if the module itself is healthy.

A couple things you can try are:

Ensure your SCv3020 is running the latest supported SCOS version for your environment.

You can check this via Dell Storage Manager or CLI.

Use DSM or CLI to review historical temperature logs:

show hardware health
show enclosure status

Power down the shelf (if possible) and reseat both I/O modules and SAS cables.

Ensure both modules are securely latched and that cables are not under tension.

Run a Diagnostic Test

    • From DSM:
Hardware → Enclosure → Run Diagnostics
    • This may reveal deeper issues with the shelf or controller communication.

Let me know what you see and if this helps.

@DELL-Chris H  thank you.
it covers most things , its an SC4020 not SCV3020

It is better to run some diag command at CLI mode.
