Deleting FC Fault domain

Dear all.

Because I wont use FC, I want to delete existing Fault Domain but I can't. I can move port do different domain but I can't delete it. I also tried do change card location using "Configure IO Card" creator but no success :-(

How to delete Fault Domain ? May can I do it from CLI ?

I would not like to see the error message all the time "FC adapter down"

Hello NellPola,

The option to delete the fault domain appears when all the ports are moved.  If you still have ports on the fault domain that is why you are not able to remove it.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi, thanks for reply, yes I know that, but I do not use FC. By mystake I've created FC fault domain, but now (I suppose that is the reason) I have error in SCOS system "Controller ports for this Storage Center are currently unbalanced due to a failover."

I think when I remove unused FC fault domain - array will again be balanced. Now if i try to rebalace I've message "Failed to re-balace ports".

Unused Fault Domains can be deleted following the steps on page 269 under Delete a Fault Domain of the Dell Storage Manager 2016 R3 Administrator’s Guide: https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/storage-sc2000_administrator-guide_en-us.pdf

It looked like your system had a Virtual Port created at one point which requires Support to delete these unused ports. I show you have a support ticket open in which they were able to correct this issue.

You need to move the port into another fault domain before you can delete the fault domain.
