Compellent SCV3020 - 2 disks down

Hi,

Alerte on compellent 2 disks down. Support Assist report sent. Console activated. Need to talk with Support ingineer.

Have you a process used by Dell ProSupport when replaced your disk ?

The 1.st disk was replaced under warranty by Dell ProSupport.
The 2.nd disk came back to normal.

Dell ProSupport helps a lot.

I hope you can fix your disk problem.

  • Check the firmwares updates,
  • use the "spare" functionality
  • You maybe will end up with different disks Model numbers but the disk capacity should not be lower.
  • disk must be Dell brand because of modified firmwares

Sorry but i don't remember the details, because it is an old case now.

It can be fix without ProSupport, but they provide the peace of mind in a Production context it's valuable.

Yes. They are mastering the process and they check things i wouldn't have thought about.
