Compellent SC8000 and SC200 with 14TB disks
I was looking into getting the controller with the single enclosure.
I was wondering would 6x14TB disk be supported here?
Is there a disk size limit here?

Hello Karlovsky120,
In order to use the larger drive sizes on your SC8000 you will need to be at the latest SCOS 7.3 or higher in order to see the drives. currently the largest drives that I am seeing are 14TB SSD.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

I take it that SCOS 7.3 is compatible with the SC8000?
If 14TB SSD works, I assume that a 7.2K HDD will work as well?

Also, drives that would be installed in the system would be Seagate Exos X16 14 TB
(ST14000NM002G). Would they work with the system (provided adequate SCOS version), or does Dell lock it to only work with their disks?

Hello Karlovsky120,
The only drives that I am seeing that are supported are SSD 14TB drives. Any drive that goes into a Compellent system needs to have compellent firmware on them. If a drive doesn’t have compellent firmware on it then it will power the drive down and mark it as bad.
