Compellent SC220 - low disk space
We have a SC220 that had a space issue a couple of months back. With Dell's assistance we got the issue resolved by dropping a raid level and clearing a lot of old data.
The solution we have has 3 Tiers.
Write Intensive SSD 6 x 400GB (1 Spare)
Read Intensive SSD 6 x 1.6TB (1 Spare)
7k's 1TB x 12 (1 Spare)
The Tier 3 Storage is pretty much at 100%
Tier 2 is at 35%
Tier 1 is 6 %
Is there a pathway to replace the 7 K's with larger disks or will removing further data (reluctantly) bring this down?
Thanks
Alex

SC220 is a JBOD for a SC Main unit. What SC model do you have(SC8000) and which version of SCOS youre running?
Your example is the reason why i am not a fan of a 3 tier architecture. Older SCs are not certified for new/larger drives so we need to know that you have.
If youre running a SC8000 with a SC220 attached than the 1TB 2.5 was the largest NLSAS based on my docs from the past. You can attach a SC200 which offer 12x3.5" slots and there you can 4TB NLSAS as TIER3.
The SC8000 comes out at the end of 2012.
