Compellent - redundant RAID levels change and distributed spare
I have SCv2020 with 24x960GB RI SSD and three enclosures populated with 12x4TB each and would like to provide maximum data protection.
Is there option to change redundant RAID levels, from single-redundant RAID levels to dual-redundant RAID levels on the running system?
SCOS version 7.4 with distributed spare. What is the maximum number of drives can failed and can it be changed?

Hi,
i can answer your first question. Yes you can modify the tier redundancy by selecting your type within the Storage types. In your case you can select different redundancy for SSD and HDD. Yes the system can change the type without service interruption.....but you should ask Dell support if they can check if there is enough space left on different tiers because the conversion needs a lot of space.
Right now there is no configuration option to configure the number of distr. spaces. Its a question which i have ask Dell some time ago and they answered "maybe in the feature".
