Changing font end connectivity type
I have a 2020 with SAS controllers, and I want to change to 10GBASE-T. Has anyone ever changed the front end connectivity on a Compellent before? I suspect we'll have to replace both controllers, but is that even possible and is it the only step?

Hello rhavens,
it is not as easy as swapping controllers. If you swap the controllers, you will need to call into support to assist with doing the changing controllers.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hello,
In addition to what Sam mentioned, I believe you cannot just change the front end once it's configured with data. The system will have to be reset first. So all the data needs to be backed up then restored.
So opening a support case with Dell is recommended first step.
Given that's an older array, have you considered purchasing a new SC SAN, then you can migrate the data over live and re-purpose that older SAN.
