Can't logon to Unisphere after DSM 2020 R1 Windows to Virtual Appliance migration.

I have been running Dell Storage Manager in a Windows 2019 VM. I upgraded to DSM 2020 R1 (20.1.1.716) back at the beginning of January. I have been wanting to migrate off Windows to the Virtual Appliance, so I thought I would try that today.

I install the OVA in vSphere and logon using the default credentials. I tell it I want to migrate an existing data collector and provide the credentials and let it start its thing. I come back to the process and it says to close out the session and open a new session because it's finished. I load up the same ui page for the DSM VA and I can't logon. My previous data collector accounts do not work nor do the default "config" account.

I go to the console for DSM VA and it says to enter user "em", which I do. After typing "em", it prompts for my "EM Username" and says "Please use EM Local Admin credentials to complete login." I am able to log on here with my old data collector credentials. I can then change the network configuration, perform diagnostics, etc.

Is it still migrating in the background? Did I miss something? Is there anyway to confirm it was successful? Logs or anything? Thanks!

Update:

After logging on to the VM console directly, it does briefly display an error regarding FileAppender, RollingFile, and jboss.logmanager. But it still proceeds to the console menu. Please see the screenshot.

Hello rwattuab,

Did you follow the installation guide & do the Next Steps After Migration?  Here is a link to the guide and the steps that should be done just in case you need it. https://dell.to/305w3nI
