Business Copy on Compellent

We are configuring Database Servers on CML SC5020. And below are customer requirements. 1)Customer have Production Server and BCV Server. Production Volumes are mapped to production server and Business Copy volumes are mapped to BCV server. 2)Every week production volume data need to be resynced to Business copy volumes . 3)After resynchronization Business copy volumes will be mounted on BCV server and customer will use same for testing. 4)This Cycle will repeat every week. Can anyone suggest how we can achieve this using either Snapshot or Copy-Mirror-Migrate function of Compellent.

Hello Sandesh Madgule,

For what your customer is trying to do you will need to use Copy Mirror Migrate to a new volume and map the new volume to your BCV host.  Snapshots will not work as they are used to facilitate data progression on a Compellent system.

Hello SAM, Thanks for Reply. "copy" Option will be usable in this case? . Do we have any option that we create copy of production volume, Map it to BCV server. Then at every resync unmounts OS mount points, Resync Production volume to copy volume, rescan on OS and mount mount points. Our aim is to avoid creation of copy volume each week.
