Upgrading to CTA 10.0 SP2 from 10.0

Hi Althaf,

I upgraded my 10.0 SP2 to 10.0 SP3 today. In my Case I had a ".upg"-file to download in support.emc.com.

I looked up your version as well:

You one is called Cloud Tiering Appliance 10.0 SP2 UPG

I would recommend upgrading from 10.0 to 10.0 SP3 though as it is available by now:

Cloud Tiering Appliance and Cloud Tiering Appliance/VE 10.0 SP3 Upgrade Guide

Basic steps for upgrading Cloud Tiering Appliance (also VE):

1. Download UPG-package Cloud Tiering Appliance 10.0 SP3 UPG and upload to CTA using SCP (for example WinSCP) to /var
2. login via SSH
   1. Press 5 for CLI
   2. filemanagement stop
   3. fmbackup
   4. filemanagement start
3. copy backup file (for example "fmbackup_10.0sp2_vCTA-1.Mon_07-09-15_12_30.tgz") from /var to a remote site (for example with WinSCP) as backup
4. Next commands for SSH:
   1. filemanagement stop
   2. /opt/rainfinity/filemanagement/bin/rfupgrade /var/cta-10.0-325SP3.x86_64.upg
   3. if it says "*** You must reboot your CTA..." type reboot
5. System reboots
6. Checks if upgrade process was successful (CLI):
   1. celerracallback status
   2. atmoscallback status
   3. fpolicycallback status
   4. (At least the ones you are using should be running)
   5. psql rffm rffm -c "select * from file_management.rffm_version;"
      1. Output should be like that:
         1. version
         2. ---------
         3. 10.0sp3
         4. (1 row)
   6. filemanagement status (should be running)
7. Proceed with HA machine

1. Download UPG-package Cloud Tiering Appliance HA 10.0 SP3 UPG and upload to CTA-HA using SCP (for example WinSCP) to /var
2. login via SSH
   1. Press 5 for CLI
   2. /opt/rainfinity/filemanagement/bin/rfupgrade /var/ctaha-10.0-325SP3.x86_64.upg
   3. if it says "*** You must reboot your CTA..." type reboot
3. System reboots
4. Checks if upgrade process was successful (CLI):
   1. celerracallback status
   2. atmoscallback status
   3. fpolicycallback status
   4. (At least the ones you are using should be running)
