Wanted to know is unisphere / Navisphere host agent compatible with CentOS 6.2 and higher also some documentation for Navimon.cfg configuration

I need help related to Navimon.cfg config file Created under /etc/Unisphere/Navimon.cfg after I install HostAgent-Linux-64-x86-en_US-1.2.0.1.0554-1.x86_64 rpm

I received one file from EMC China team where I need to edit content with SP-A and SP-B profile and replace with existing Navimon.cfg file

Need some manual/instruction/information, what steps are needed to configure Navimon.cfg files

Thanks Shivam for replying some of questions via email

1. What is this host agent?

>> The Host Agent provides communication between Host and Block Array. It provides host to block array registration and monitoring functions.

2. Does this host agent has any versioning, if yes, does it has to align with a specific version of Unisphere code base etc?

>> It works on the basis of Storage Models. Go to support.emc.com and search the required host agent. You will get launched date and supported models of that particular host agent below the download link.

Latest version of Unisphere host agent for linux is Unisphere Host Agent (Linux x86) 1.2.25.1.0163 / Unisphere Host Agent (Linux x64) 1.2.25.1.0163

3. Is this a specific package or gets bundled with other Unisphere code base?

>> It's a specific package that you need to install on the operating system to get the initiators registered in the storage box automatically.

4. Who is the person we need to interlock with for the right versions of the Host agent.

>> The best thing is to search on support.emc.com. In case you are unable to find the correct information, you can open SR with the support to get the right version.

5. What about the compatibility? ( forward and backward )

>> Answered in 2nd question.

6. Does it have any IP Config issues.

>> Host Agent configuration document can be followed for proper installation and configuration of the host agent.

If you go to support.emc.com and look in the lower right corner, you'll see a a section called "Product and Support Tools" - under this is the "E-Lab Interoperability Navigator" - click on this to take you to the E-Lab site. From this site you can select a Wizard that will allow you to see if your operating system is supported.

The navimon.cfg is created when you install the Host Agent software on the host. On the support.emc.com site, do a search for:

This will provide the information about the Host Agent - there is some information about navimon in this document.
You can also search for emc254967 - this lists all the articles about the EMC Host Agent.
