Try to access http://ip-spa/setup and http://ip-spb/setup

You should be able to change it from there

so you got the SPA and SPB address? Just connect to them and http://ip-spb/setup http://ip-spa/setup

and change it from here

But those are the ips , which were configured statically during first time deployment in different subnet(10.94.171.) .Now its being deployed in different subnet(10.94.171).Please find the screen shot which shows the inactive mgmt ip fields. So what should I do to change the ip SPA and SPB ips.

.

Hi

if you plugged in the LAN cable the right way ( MANAGEMENT PORT ) you should be able to ping. Anyway you still can try use the Service LAN Port.

https://community.emc.com/message/730239

Please try this ( connect ONLY to on SP NOT BOTH the same time ) afterwards try to ping the Service IP of the corresponding SP

So what is the next solution ?

No sir they are the ips which are stored cached when they were connected to previous subnet and am not able to ping those ips .How to check which ips they have taken in new subnet they have connected.

dont know what u are doing.

Here steps which you can take...

- connect MANAGEMENT Port of SPA and SPB to an unmanaged SWITCH

- connect your Computer to the same switch ( use 10.94.174.50/24 )

- PING SPA SPB 10.94.174.42 ....

one more thing you wont be able to putty on SPA

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

u r in a different subnet

http://www.subnet-calculator.com/

SPA SPB 192.94.174.42/43  NM 255.255.255.0

Possible IPs without routing

10.94.174.1 - 10.94.174.254

I guess you only get the storage array shown because the Initialazion Wizard does an BROADCAST. This doesn't mean that you can reach it via IP

Obviously I will not be able to ping because my current subnet is 171.0 where the storage is and previous subnet was 174.0 which has been deleted now and but am able to discover the host from other server , which is in 171.0 subnet .Service Lan port you mean R45 to serial cable?I tried this also but am not getting any console through putty.

This is a picture of the back of the array - one of the SP's. On the CX4 there will be two modules - one for SPA on the right side and one on the left. The right side is SPA and the left is SPB. Since the IP's for SPA and SPB are in the 174 subnet, you need a PC and a switch. Configure the PC for the correct subnet, then connect the PC to the switch and then connect the switch two both of the Ethernet ports on back - one to SPA and one to SPB. Then you should be able to connect to the setup page on with SPA or SPB. Or see the KB article below for using CLI commands

Is it compulsosry that I need to connect to 174.0 subnet and then change or any subnet is ok?

The issue is that you must access SPA and SPB to change the IP address of each SP, there is no other way to do this. To do that you must access the SP's using the "current" IP addresses. There is no other way.
