state Normal,Offline virtual disk AX4

Hi all,

i have a problem with a virtual disk on my "out of support" AX4.

One of my virtual disk has the state Normal,Offline.

No cache dirty condition.

No faulted disk.

The output of:

NaviSECCli -h getlun -owner

is   "Current owner:   unknown"

Who could help me to solve the problem?

Is there any command to put online the disk or change the state?

thank you

Ale

Consider moving this discussion to Clariion Support Forum (Actions > Move).

Was there any unexpected power down of the system ?

How did you ensure there is no cache dirty condition ?

Yes there was an unexpected power down of the system.

I checked the luncache and the result was:

LUN offline (Cache Dirty Condition): NO

With -clear option a received this warning message:

The LUN does not have LUN cache dirty condition.

I tried also to upgrade the flare (from 02.23.050.5.703 to 02.23.050.5.711)

but the system did not succeed due to an error on disabling cache.

thk

From the virtual disk detail in Navisphere express, can you try changing the access path (at the bottom). It may not work as the LUN is unowned.

As I mentioned in my first reply, "Consider moving this discussion to Clariion Support Forum (Actions > Move)".

A long shot, but can you try to trespass the LUN?

naviseccli -h SPx_IP Address trespass LUN xx (try to each SP IP address)

If that doesn't work, try the "trespass mine" - run this to each SP.

Hi Glen,

with "..trespass lun xx" (on both SPx) i received an error 0x40008059.

with "..trespass mine" (on SP1) no output

with "..trespass mine" (on SP2)  error 0x71408010

with "getlun  xx -trespass" on both SPx no output

thank you

Looks like the LUN is "unowned" - which normally only occurs when you have a disk fault or cache dirty condition, which you've already checked. Not sure what you can do at this point, probably need to open a case with EMC support.

You're responding to a two-year-old post, which might not get timely visibility.  You might want to create a new thread and contact EMC Support, if you have it on this array.

You'll need to open a service request with EMC to fix this issue.
