SFP Module needed for fiber connection
Good morning Everyone,
I have been on a mission looking for a SPF module for an EMC CX4-120. I am trying to connect Fiber cables from our server to the back of the EMC. When we went to do the connection, there was a port open in the SPA and SPB, but it seems that there is a SFP transceiver missing. Can someone tell me or point out to me something that I could plug in here that would allow me to connect fibers? We have no support regarding this device, so EMC will not help without purchasing a new service contract. Let me know if you need more details. I am trying to connect LC to LC Multimode fibers less than 10 feet.
Please, if anyone could recommend what I need or if they can point me in a direction to purchase this part, let me know. Thank you!

If I remember correctly the basic model for the CX4-120 came with a two IO modules:
In first slot (AO/B0) the IO module supports one Backend ports (copper - to the DAE's) and two front-end ports for connecting host over Fiber channel. The SFP's front-end ports were 1/2/4 Gb SFPs - EMC part number 019-078-032. Depending on the version if Flare running on the array when you received the array, these might be 4/8Gb FC ports - the EMC part number for the 8Gb SFP is 019-078-042.
In the second slot (A1/B1) there was a 2-port, 10/100/1Gb iSCSI IO module. These used the RJ45 connector (1000BaseT)
The third slot A2/B2) was optional but could have either a 4-port Fiber Channel or 2-port iSCSI IO module.
The way you add SFP's depends on which IO module you are talking about. Also, these modules must have been installed when the array was first started (initialized) - this "persists" the IO ports. If the Fiber Channel ports did not have SFP's installed at the time of the initial boot, adding a SFP to an empty port will require that you run the Navisphere Service Tool (NST) for the CX4 (this has now been replaced with the Unisphere Service Manager for Flare 30 on the CX4 - this also depends on the Flare version running on your array).
