RHEL6 - Direct Connect CX700
Hi,
I have been tasked with wiping our DL700 which has a CX700 array under the hood. I am trying to connect a RHEL6 system to the array directly without a fibre switch since I don't have one where this array is currently located. I am going to use nwipe which is dban but allows you to run it on a system instead of just booting from the image.
So, my issue is I can't get the array to see the RHEL6 system. I have it connected directly to port A2 on the array. The array has the flare 6.19.5.2.0. I tried using the Naviagent 6.19.5.0.0 and 6.29.6.0.35 but both did not register with the array.
I tried to manually registering with the array. It shows up as registered in the connectivity window on the array but not logged in.
When I check the port state in /sys/class/fc_host/host2/port_state it says the link is down. However the connectivity lights at both ends show a connection. I verified I can see light from both ends of the fibre cable.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
ECuse

I actually figured it out when I saw something on another form about loop. I had to change the fibre card on the server from point-to-point to loop.
