Recreate vault disks
There is any way to recover vault disks on a CX4-240 array? I don't have old vault disks, so the array is unusable. I need to do a fresh install on new vault disks (I DON'T want to REIMAGE SP's) but I don't have the procedure... it's EMC confidential? Partners have access to this procedure? I suppose that field team could do that...

Ok Ajit, but how can I do that? I've utility partition, mif file, and pbu file... I engaged proc gen but there is not any reference to that procedure... I suppose that I should to recreate all vault disks partitions and then reimage both sp's. Is that correct? Can I found how to use utility partition?

I tried to install disks 0-4, and I got a message on db-9 mini... "unable to start utility partition"

additional how i see the storage CX and VNX. ( you wont get a lot of internal information from EMC and i think its running like that )
on Highlevel
SP is statring up and get access on its flare disks where the Utility and OS is stored.
If you don't have Utitlity Part. already installed on flare disks you wont be able to do anything.
The thing is a Storageprocessor is "Just" a computer.
You wont be able to install your Computer OS via serialconnection .... ONLY if your computer starts up in a OS with supported serialconnection.... like Utility Partition.
You wont be able to install your Computer OS without Monitior, Keyboard and e.G. Network/USB/CD....
I dont understand how they handle Diskaccess in the Backround ( on Flare Luns )
.... i can only guess that this is fabric branded too....
Thats the way how i see the architecture of CLARIION.

you need to order a vault drive pack ( preinstalled OS on the Drives )
You wont be able to just insert disks and install Utility Partition.... this is all factory PREINSTALLED on disks.
I never tried to insert EMPTY disks ( 0-4 ) and startup CX / VNX ... i think you wont get an output on serial ( DB9 mini ) ....
