We need a bit more information:

1. Is the array still running on SPB?

2,. Why was SPA rebooted?

3. Have you tried to reboot SPA again?

4. Are there any faults on the array?

5. If SPB is still running, what error indications is it giving about SPA or disks 0-0 and 0-2 (the boot disks for SPA).

1. yes

2. the storage (both A and B) was rebooted because the hotspare was stuck in transitiong state for mor than a week and 0% progression.

3. yes but it seems inaccessable. it is possible to generate sp collect from SPB only.

4. no, all disks are in normal state after reboot

5. could you tell me what look for in sp collect logs?

Thanks,

Mohammed

Thanks for the updated information.

It's been a quite while since I've looked at the logs for AX150 - not sure what to tell you at this time. It appears that SPA is not booting from the description of the issue. As to what would cause that it a number of things: boot image on the Disk is corrupt, something on the SPA is bad, or some other unknown issue. Accessing the SPA using the serial cable is one of the steps taken to actually see what it happening when the SP boots. The output captured in the terminal session could point to where the booting issue is.

This forum is really not setup to perform a real diagnostic on an array.

I would recommend opening a service request with EMC or a service partner (one that's certified on the AX series).
