Raid Group taking long time to expand

Hi everyone

I had a RG of (4+1)  SATA drives. I added 02 SATA drives to expand this RG. Initially the two new drives were in "Binding" state  and but since then all drives are in "Rebuilding" state and the LUNs are in "Transitioning" state. Its more than 48 hours now and they are in the same state. I am wondering if everything is OK, does this process takes that much time?

Would appreciate any input.

when you add drives to an existing raid group, all existing LUNs on that raid group have to be re-striped. Doing it with SATA drives and existing host workload is not a very speedy process.

In addition to what dynamox said, verify what the rebuild rate is set to. It's in the RAID Group's properties window. I believe the default is medium; change it to high "off-hours" and that should speed it up.
