Procedure to replace drive on CX4-120
Have a Dell-branded CX4-120. Dell's support site doesn't give me any useful information on it -- I guess because it's EOL/EOS? Fortunately I was able to sign up for EMC's support portal and found a KB article with the proper steps to replace a drive. However, when I try to view the KB, SalesForce gives me an access error.
From the Navisphere Manager, I have gone to Service -> Navisphere Service TaskBar which points me to download the Navisphere Service Taskbar from Powerlink. I'm able to get into Powerlink, but don't see a Navisphere Service TaskBar anywhere -- only some CLI tools.
I'm guessing this is likely as simple as yanking the failed drive (it's in the "Removed" state per Navisphere Manager) and sliding in the new one. Hopefully a rebuild would being automatically.
Is it more involved than this? If so, can someone share the steps?

Well, with a bit more persistence I was able to generate custom documentation on how to replace a disk. Found out that I need to install Unisphere Service Manager (which I was able to download and get going).
Ran through the USM, but it tells me I must resolve an issue with one of our SP's being unmanageable first. This array is at a remote location and I'd prefer to replace the disk first before taking on the SP.
Will I be OK just yanking the bad disk and popping in the new one or does USM actually need to do something? Anyway I can override its concerns about the unmanageable SP? Bad idea to try?
Thanks!

i've replaced failed drive in the past without USM/NST. Remove the one that's failed and replace with the new one ..watch it spin up (it will blink green LEDs), at that point you should see it in Unisphere.

Generally you want both SP's to be working correctly before you try to replace components as you want both SP's to see when the old component is removed and the new component is inserted.
If the bad drive is in a raid group (not a Pool), then you should be able to tell from Navisphere if the bad drive is fully replaced by the hot spare - right clicking on the hot spare and selecting properties should show it replacing the bad disk. If the hot spare is replacing the bad disk, then just remove the bad one and insert the new disk (using the same part number).

This ended up being super straightforward as some of you suggested. Just yank the drive and pop in a new one after which the CX-120 phased it back in and the hot spare reverted to being a hot spare.
We're evaluating getting the "broken" SP working again (challenging to do remotely on an unfamiliar system running production workloads) or migrating the data off.
In any case -- thanks for all the help!

The best practice is to resolve any issue on SP first and then proceed. But you have both the ways to do, as you did. Priority matters...

There are two types of Hardware Replacements:
1. CRU refers to Customer Replaceable Unit
2. FRU refers to Field Replaceable Unit
The disk drive replacement comes under CRU. For most CRU (SPS, PSU etc) the procedures are almost the same. The CLARiiON Procedure Generator is currently available only to Partners/Employees. However, you can refer to VNX Doc Generator: https://mydocuments.emc.com/ and follow the steps.
For other CLARiiON Related queries/documentation you can refer to http://www.emc.com/clariionsupport for Custom Documents. [It only lacks Disk Drive, SPS, SP Replacement Procedure(s), you will find rest of the information there)
Anyhow, for your ready reference I am attaching a custom document I just generated for VNX which will help you step by step.
