Next DAE address for CX4-480
Hello everyone,
I need to install two new DAEs to our existing rack, the current setup looks like this:
Enclosure 0,0 |
Enclosure 0,1 |
Enclosure 1,0 |
Enclosure 1,1 |
Enclosure 2,0 |
Enclosure 3,0 |
What would be my recommended setup? New DAEs are FC 600 GB and SATA 2 TB.
Unisphere Service Manager recommends 2,1 and 3,1
Attached you can see the heat map for the array.
Thank you very much for your help!

Go with USM recomendation 2,1 & 3,1.
You can have a look at the setup guide page 37.
http://powerlink.emc.com/km/live1/en_US/Offering_Technical/Technical_Documentation/300-007-008.pdf?mtcs=ZXZlbnRUeXBlPUttQ2xpY2tTZWFyY2hSZXN1bHRzRXZlbnQsZG9jdW1lbnRJZD0wOTAxNDA2NjgwNTUwNjk3LGRhdGFTb3VyY2U9RENUTV9lbl9VU18w
The set up should have been like:
Enc 0, Enc1, Enc 2, Enc 3 and then the Daisy chaining.
If you can afford to have a downtime and do a upside down in your config you can go ahead with the EMC standard config.
Else in the current scene the recomendation would be 2,1 &3,1 should be fine but again not as per the standards.
Thanks

If you have CX4 or CX3 Array, I believe 2TB FC is available.
Recommended setup depends on what you are specifically looking for..Performnace, Availability or Capacity?

Hello rupal,
The current config came as it is from EMC.
This two new DAEs are the first addition to the factory purchase.

Then you should go with 2,1 &3,1.
Else you can also contact the EMC proffesional services via support. They are the best people who can guide you further in this regards.
Thanks
