New DAE added in transition
We recently added a new DAE with a client to a CX4-120, he was procedimeinto as normal, turn the DAE, modify the number of Bus Loop and Eclosure and connect cables for SAS Expansion.
Usually in transition puts and takes about 20 to 30 min, however this new DAE is in Transition for about 3 hrs and does not recognize the disks.
anyone have any idea what may be happening?

What is the FLARE version and DAE type (DAE2P,DAE3P etc...)

In addition to what was already requested (Flare and DAE type), here are a few thoughts:
1) Verify the drives are supported by cross-referencing the hardware and software combination (FLARE, DAE, and drives) in the following document:
CX4 Storage Systems Disk and FLARE OE Matrix
Search for it on support.emc.com by name. I'm not a fan of putting in direct links of current(ish) documents as they can go stale.
2) Are there more than one drive type in the same DAE? You will want to review the following document:
EMC CLARiiON Best Practices for Performance and Availability: Release 30.0 Firmware Update Applied Best Practices
This isn't available any longer on support.emc.com as they tend to get superseded with each major revision of firmware. You can find the document at the following URL:

a) You will want to refer to the Table 21: “Drive type DAE hosting Restrictions”
b) The main rules that can be derived from the chart above are as follows (if you are looking to mix drive types):
NOTE: Now, I want to mention and this isn’t noted in the bp guide (but doesn’t change anything in regards to this conversation) that there exists two types of EFD’s: SATA-EFD and FC-EFD; however, from the perspective of the connectivity to the LCC they are FC drives and collectively are referenced simply as EFD’s regardless of the internals. I mention this as the drive properties may reference them as SATA-EFD; however, that doesn’t mean they can coexist on the same DAE as (high-capacity) SATA drives.
3) I can see that Bus 0 Enclosure 0 and its drives are running at 4Gbps
Is it possible that the DAE and the drives you are adding only support 2Gbps? This will likely be answered when you review bullet point #1 above. If so then to use the 2Gbps DAE/drives on the same bus, you will have to run the entire bus at the lowest common denominator of 2Gbps (via the Bus Speed Reset Wizard). Since the NS120 only has the one bus so you don't have the option of separating the 4Gbps DAE/drives from the 2Gbps DAE/drives.
4) Finally, assuming it is the next available enclosure number (2) of the single bus available on an NS-120, I simply want to mention that we can obviously rule out you have not exceeded the drive count limit of 120. Just saying...
Last comment... you had mentioned SAS connections. I simply want to clarify this and mention that the CX4 uses FC (over Cu) for the back-end. On the other hand, the older AX4 and the latest VNX do use SAS though (running at 3Gbps and 6Gbps, respectively).
