Mirrorview/s – system fractured report
Hi
We have a number of mirrorview/s LUNs which have their recovery mode set to
manual. Event notification has been setup to include all information and warning events.
I assumed that in the event of a system fracture and all events are checked, especially
Ox71050201 “An image was fractured and administrator action is required for synchronisation”,
I would receive an email notification for any system or administrative fractures.
I am correct? If not, what is the most reliable way to be notified of any fractures?
Thanks

Hello james99,
The recovery policy determines MV behavior in recovering from link failures. The policy is designated when the mirror is created but can be changed anytime. The two settings are:
*Auto Recovery - Option to have Sync start as soon as a system fractured secondary image is reachable. This does not require human intervention to resume the replication and this is the default settings.
*Manual Recovery - Option to have MV wait for a Sync request from user when a system-fractured secondary image is reachable.
MV will automatically set the recovery policy to Manual after a promote is executed.
In your situation as you claimed that you checked the event specified, you will be notified.
Please use the test events to ensure that the notification settings are working properly.
