Is it possible to disable an AX4 NIC interface on a SP?

We have an AX4 with dual SP using iSCSI.  NIC 0 is on one switch and NIC 1 is on another as recommended by EMC.  Each switch w/ its own subnet.

We are looking at migrating to new switches so I was trying to find a way to shutdown a NIC so the iSCSI traffic can automatically fail over to the other network. So if I shutdown NIC0 of SPA and SPB, all traffic will route to their NIC1s.  Then I can plug in NIC0 to a new switch. Is this possible?

I know I can just pull the cable but I am not sure if thats an elegant way.  And currently we cannot afford to shutdown all of our hosts attached to the SAN.

Thanks!

The only way to shutdown the NIC on the AX would be to change the IP address - it's easier to just disconnect the cable.
