How to reset disk slot status in Navisphere for AX4-5i?
Hi,
We have a VNX and a Nimbe SAN but also an old AX4 which is out of warranty but would still be useful for tier 3 data.
A couple of the disk had faults and I don't have any permanent spares so I moved everything off the datastores in vSphere, deleted the LUNs, RGs etc. in Navisphere and then moved the disk around between the DAEs with the intention of creating smaller RAID Groups.
The problem is Navisphere thinks the slot that used to have a 2TB disk in and now has a 1TB disk in is faulty and it thinks the slot that used to have a 1TB disk in and is now empty is faulty.
For the life of me I can not figure out how to update the status of these slots. Can anyone help? If I need to remove the DAE from the config altogether and add again that is fine.
Cheers,
Dan

Hi
This may help you
If you have not tried please try reboot the SP's or power-off the DAE. The error may not have cleared with the disk replacement.
Try rebooting the SP's with the new disk removed first - empty slot, reboot. Then when the SP's are back up, insert the disk check if that works
Thanks

Hey,
I had already tried a full reboot of the SPs, though not with the disk removed.
All sorted now though. I swapped the disks back how they were and fully healthy again. I then repeated the process and this time when I removed the drive it showed as empty rather than faulted so when I put the 2TB drive back in it was picked up okay. The other slot still showed as faulty but I found this was because there was still a hot spare LUN bound to it. Once I got rid of that it was fine too.
Thanks for your help.
