DAE Compatibility
Hi,
Quick question, we currently run a CX-380 with 2/4Gb Disk Enclosures. We have some 4/8Gb enclosures for a CX4 and my question is are they compatible for use on the CX3 Series?
Thanks in advance.

It all depended on the mode
If the enclosures is a DAE3/ DAE3P then they are backward compatbile
There is no 8gb enclosure for CX4

DAE2P and DAE3P (2/4 Gbps) enclosures are supported with CX4 systems also.

what we have on CX4 is you can have 4/8Gb frontend fibre connectivity ports,
Even on VNX we use a 6Gb backend on the DAE (24gb shared across the entire bus)

Thanks Gearoid.
Hmm, looks like I have been missinformed on it's origin, However I was told it's 8Gb?, Which SAN model supports 8?
Cheers Vipin V.K thats a good doc!
