CX4 Help understanding SP-Port numbering in reference to hardware

I am working with a customer who has an NS-960 however they are only utilizing the back-end storage CX4-960. It's been a while since I've had to perform Storage Admin responsibilities so pardon me for not knowing how to answer my own question. I am trying to document the Clariion and map all the hardware ports to their corresponding wwn. I am currently looking at the hosts via unisphere, I've highlighted a host and have the details panel open in the lower portion of Unisphere. When I click the Connections tab I see the Host Initiator WWN's but can't for the life of me figure out what the SP-Port is associated with? I'm confused because all references and physical labels do not label and SP-Port with A-7 for example. The fiber connections would be connected to the storage via Slot 3 for SPA or SPB Ports 0-3. I can't understand what SP-Port is in reference to in the Hosts Details as shown in the picture I've attached. Can someone please help me interpret what I am looking at for the SP-Port numbers? Is there a PDF or Whitepaper that I can reference that breaks down and explains or can be used to reference?

that screen displays host initiators, do you want to see SP ports and corresponding WWNs ? If yes, in Unisphere select "Settings > Settings for Block"

I'm trying to understand what the SP-Ports that are listed next to the Host Initiator represent. I'm not certain if the SP-Ports represent ports on the host or if they are a representation of ports on the Clariion. The Heading "SP-Port" leads me to speculate they are a representation of ports on the Clariion Storage. If so, which ports are they? I can't match any ports numbering higher that 0-3. So not sure what ports 4-7 are.

it could be something like this (neon numbers). You need to find the menu i mention before to figure out physical slot number to logical number

Thank you for responding. So you are saying that there are two representations of how you may see a port on the SP. One being the actual physical port number on the hardware itself, and the other being the logical port number which is reflected when viewing the ports in Unisphere or CLI? If this is correct, what documentation is available that would list the specific physical to logical port numbers? I am looking for a reference. thank you

i have looked through the hardware manuals and don't see any references to physical/logical naming. I don't have any CX4 left in my shop but i do have a bunch of VNXs ..the idea should work for CX4 as well.

1) Download and install USM https://download.emc.com/downloads/DL30834_Unisphere_Service_Manager_(USM)_(Windows)_1.2.26.1.0068.exe

2) generate and download SPCollect file from on of the SPs.

3) Open USM, connect to your array, on the right hand side select "View System Configuration"

4) Change output format from HTML to Microsofort Excel, select "Choose from Existing Reports" and open SPCollect file generated in step 2

5) When report is done it will open autimatically in Excel, go to tab I_O Module Information, here is a sample of what mine looks like :

here is physical representation of where port 11 is, it's plugged-in to slot B4, port 3 (there are 4 ports on the module, 0-3)5-30-2013 2-11-59 PM.jpg

now if you look at my connectivity status you will see this:

5-30-2013 2-09-17 PMp.jpg

this should  match exactly my physical location (B port in this example). Slot is B4, Physical port is 3 ..which is top port on that module and finally Logical ID 11, which matches port B11 that you see in Unisphere.
