CX4-240 Configuration Backup
Hi,
I am a newbie on storage systems so please be patient with my questions if they sound too easy
We have a CX4-240 system and we lost one hard drive (one from those that keep the configuration stored on them).
Question 1: Is the configuration in any kind of "danger" if i just replace the HDD (anything i need to know before i replace it etc)
Question 2: What is the way/ways to backup the configuration of the specific storage?
Thanks in advance for your time,
Charis

I'm assuming that you mean one of the first 5 disks - the OS drives or also called the Vault drives. These disks are mirrored (0 to 2 and 1 to 3) and the config is triple mirrored. So if one of the OS drives fail, there is a backup.

See above.

If you want to back up the user configuration - all the LUNs and raid groups, there is a CLI command "arrayconfig -capture" - see you Command Line Interface manual for a more detailed description of the command and its uses.

Firstly, welcome to the forums, and above all, thank you for being an EMC customer.
Please consider moving this question as-is (no need to recreate) to the proper forum for maximum visibility. Questions written to the users' own "Discussions" space don't get the same amount of attention and can go unanswered for a long time.
You can do so by selecting "Move" under ACTIONS along the upper-right. Then search for and select: "CLARiiON Support Forum"
