cx4-120 to cx4-240 upgrade

So, let's say I have a CX4-120 and a CX4-240.  The 240 was once a cx3 so the drives are limited to 2G and are pretty old.  Both are no longer in use.

I do not have any data on the systems, and they are running the same flare code revision.  I want to upgrade the 120 to a 240 using the 240 parts.  Is this possible without involving EMC professional services?

What all parts of the 240 are needed?  Storage Processors and maybe flex-io modules?

Thanks

Reed

It might be easier to remove the DAE's from the 240 and put the DAE's from the 120 on the 240. That way you would not need to change the Storage Processors.

You want to keep the first 5 disks on the 240 is the same DAE on the same Bus 0.

The 240 has two backend buses - put all the 2Gb disks on Bus 0 and the 4Gb disks on the other bus.

This might take some time. Make sure all Raid Groups and LUNs have been deleted before making any changes
