CX3 to V-MAX migration question;

Dear experts, we need to migrate CX3 and DMX to VMAX. What is the best possible way to do this? SANCopy, Open Replicator or something else? Also will any of these solutions preserve the LUN WWNs? Can the migration be transparent to the connected hosts, i.e no need to remap the luns/export and import volume groups? Can it be done without any or minimal downtime? What about the licenses?

The environment consists of Solaris, HPUX, Linux and a few Windows servers.

Thanks a bunch!

from CX to VMAX i would use SANCopy or Open Replicator Hot Pull.  From DMX to VMAX i would use Open Replicator (or SRDF if available)

LUN WWN will change for sure, there are some "federated" migration options for VMAX, i don't remember if they are available for DMX. If you want non-disruptive migration options you will need to look into utilizing host based tools, PowerPath Migration Enabler (PPME) or native LVM mirroring. PPME is free for paying PowerPath customers. Open Replicator hot Pull should be free as well.
