Clariion FC4700-1

Hello!

I have been given a task to shutdown our old FC4700, being novice in the storage arena especially EMC products I am struggling and would appreciate any guidance or help towards achieving this. I have been only given IP's for the SP's, and after logging onto 1 of them, have noticed Navisphere 6 and after getting in have tried to look for any options to see if there is a way to shutdown the unit, but haven't found any thing useful.

Thanks in advance and would be grateful for any assistance received.

Regards

FC4700-2 was my first EMC array, i still have the manual somewhere

try  http:// /setup

I think GUI we can't shutdown the storage box.

try to use cli

navicli -User -Password -scope 1 -Address  shutdown SP / shutdownSP
navicli -User -Password -scope 1 -Address  shutdown SP / shutdownSP

if you have physical access to the array, directly power down the array.

make sure all the hosts are unmasked.

downlod appropriate navicli file from below link and install, run the above commands.

Hi!

Thanks for your response. What would be the process though? I am quite new to the EMC stuff!

Never had an opportunity to see an FC series system, and I don't think I will have. You are a lucky one..:)

And this one is going in for "secure" destruction, even too old for a museum

During my tenure I was agonized thrice with this Storage Unit. Considering Generation gap and never worked with those early Gen array, it was very difficult from Support Perspective but it was fun!
