Clariion AX4 and VMware 5.1 path mismatch

Hello there,

hope that´s the correct place to ask:

I have a customer with two AX4 systems connected to two Brocade DS200 Fabrics, one of the systems only connected to one fabric.

I have the task two upgrade the DS200 to DS300 and the AX4s to a VNX 5400. First thing was to swap the switch in the fabric without the second AX4 and cable that one to the new switch, do the zoning and check the settings.

In Navisphere Express I can see the VMware hosts with two HBAs connected to all four FC ports. One HBA, two connections.

So I rebooted one of the VMware hosts to check the pathes to the datastores and can only see three. The connections to SPB port 1 is missing on every datastore from every VMware Server. Double checked the zoning (single/single soft zoning), everything correct there, checked the Navisphere Express. All servers show both zoned HBAs AND connection to all FC ports (two per HBA).

No clue why the vSphere shows only three connections, the two alreday configured ports from the first switch and one connect through the second switch.

Any idea why that happens and what could be done?

Greetings and thanx for help.

Hi terence,

Please consider moving this question as-is (no need to recreate) to the proper forum for maximum visibility.  Questions written to the users' own "Discussions" space don't get the same amount of attention and questions can go unanswered for a long time.

You can do so by selecting "Move" under ACTIONS along the upper-right.  Then search for and select: "CLARiiON Support Forum" which would be the most relevant for this question.
