Clariion AX4-5 series Service Cable question

Hoping someone can quickly answer this, we have a Clariion AX4-5 series that we have been locked out of, we do not know the username/passwords that where previously set and have had no luck trying the method of pressing the white security button to allow us to create a new User account so we are going to try a PPP connection. My question is can anyone tell me exactly what type of cable we need, i have come across 2 types,

1. Standard DBP to Micro DB9

2. RJ45 to Micro DB9

or does it really matter which type we use? i have read tha i can create a PPP connection or connect using Hyper terminal but presume each method would require a different cable type? Any advise would be welcome.
