Can i use a drive from another array to replace a failed vault drive

I have a failed drive0 (vault drive) on a AX4-5F

i have identical PN drive on another AX4-5f can i use the drive from this second array to replace the failed one?

If you have another disk from another array and that disk does not contain any data (it is not bound) and the drive firmware is the same version, then you should be able to replace the disk. The vault disk failure should have marked the disk "Faulted" and it does not rebuilt to hot spare unless you have user LUNs built on the failed disk. You should be able to remove the failed disks and insert the other disk.

Be careful that there are no user LUNs on the failed disk and if there are, that the raid type is parity (raid 3/5) or mirroring (R10), otherwise when you pull the bad disk you may lose data.
