Hi,
Storage processor runs a customized version of windows O.S. FLARE (Fibre Logic Array Runtime Environment) Operating Environment is a set of drivers and services which loads on SP once the O.S is booted up, which makes the array functional. S.P can be accessed by utilities like EMCRemote, but these are restricted to service personnel only.

Ya, SP O.S is a customized O.S and FLARE is a set of drivers loaded on SP O.S.
