Cache allocation to active features CX 480

I would like to know if there is any cache hit for having features active but not used.

In particular MirrorView/s, SANCopy, and SNAPView

I have a situation where the cache is being beaten to death and I need some way to give it more.Any ideas?

IDS-Rick,

Please consider moving this question to the proper forum for maximum visibility.  Questions written to the users' own "Discussions" space don't get the same amount of attention and questions can go unanswered for a long time.  You can do so by selecting "Move" under ACTIONS along the right.  Then search for and select: "CLARiiON Support Forum" which would be the most relevant for this question.  There is also a recent post demonstrating the steps to do the same:

EMC Community Network Frequently Asked Questions

You are correct that certain enablers while loaded even though you aren't actively using the feature, do consume SP cache.

"If the FAST, FAST Cache, or Compression enablers are installed on the storage system, the maximum cache size per SP is less than the amount listed in this table.  As a result, the maximum write and read cache sized are less also."

Here is a similar post for the VNX (same enablers for the CX4)

So you are absolutely correct, if you aren't using the feature, it will reclaim some SP cache by unloading them.
